Week 14: The Sinking Ship Response

Wow, this comic was so interesting in so many different ways and it's probably one of my favorite comic I've read this entire semester. The art style, the way the comic is structures, the way the writer created the comic to be read is all great. It kind of reminds me of the way a movie would be shot, the way the "scenes" are in this comic. The depth of field, different angles, etc. I think this comic could be recreated into a movie or something.

This weeks topic of the Future of Comic is something I'm really interested in after taking this course. There's a lot that can be done with Comics now than when they first started them. The Sinking Ship is a great representation of that exact thought. The different opportunities that someone can have when you create a digital comic book are pretty interesting. The author was able to create this comic around technology and it opened a lot of different doors for what the author could do with the comic itself. For example, creating an entire website for it and at the same time including the comic within it. Also the different ways the comic is read, whether it is horizontal or vertical. I think that aspect really makes it all interesting in itself.
